Regional Hospice Home

What is a hospice home? A hospice home is a comforting, home-like setting where patients can receive professional medical care at the end of life. Although hospice has traditionally cared for patients in their own homes, in many situations home care is not possible. The hospice home offers terminally ill patients a comfortable, family-friendly alternative to the hospital or their own home. Trained hospice professionals including a physician, registered nurses, nursing assistants, chaplains, social workers and volunteers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Why have a hospice house?

In some cases, patients cannot be cared for in their own homes. Some patients need more treatment for their pain and physical symptoms than can be provided at home. Other patients need care while their primary caregiver takes some time to physically and emotionally re-energize. In still other cases, patients prefer not to die at home for personal reasons; for example, when there are young children living in the home. Whatever the reason, patients who cannot be cared for at home may come to the hospice home for expert end of life care in a warm and compassionate environment.

Over the past four years the Roughnecks Spartanburg South Carolina Chapter has raised over $60,000 to support the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.  Please join us this year for our charity ride to help support the Hospice House.  Visit our events calendar for updates on the date and time for the ride.  You can also visit the Hospice House Website and make a donation.  Thank you.
